Tom Wallace, Senior Advisor, Quality Measurement and Partnerships




TWall-Picture Tom Wallace is a senior advisor to Sustainable Healthy Communities, LLC (SHC) and leads the development of our Community Health Indicators project. The initiative will leverage National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) data and collaborate with patient advocates to increase their voice and viewpoint into clinical and value decision making. Tom joined SHC after a 29-year career at Eli Lilly and Company and is a respected opinion leader for U.S. and International health care alliance building strategies. Tom started and led the company’s Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations function from 2002-2018. He also brings insight from other roles including new product planning, international/national/state government & public payer relations, trade association interactions, and best in class advocacy startup designs. Tom believes strongly in collaborative approaches and the power of stakeholder involvement for improving population health. Among successes is the building of Lilly’s partnership with the National Urban League (NUL), recognized by the NUL with its highest Corporate Recognition Award in 2008 and early involvement with NMQF’s Diabetes Index. Tom worked on public health issues for the governor of Indiana and was assistant director of Indiana’s Washington DC office early in his professional life when he also earned a Masters of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University. He has a BS from Butler University.
Tom volunteers and works with several patient, caregiver, and health professional organizations, including contributing to strategies for partnering between them and other health care stakeholders. He was an elected executive board member of the National Health Council and is on the national boards of the Cancer Support Community as well as the American Osteopathic Foundation. Tom and his wife have two adult sons. He enjoys fitness and gardening among other interests.
