NMQF Save the DateSustainable Healthy Communities Health Equity Student Poster Competition

Submit your health equity projects for poster presentation at the prestigious annual NMQF Leadership Summit Spring Health Braintrust.

Sustainable Healthy Communities, LLC (SHC) is inviting submissions for poster presentations from the pre- and post-graduate students in various health fields – medical, nursing, health policy, pharmacy, public health – for the annual Summit hosted by the National Minority Quality Forum and the Congressional Black Congress – the NMQF Leadership Summit Spring Health Braintrust — in Washington D.C., April 16-17, 2018.

The SHC Student Poster Competition is designed to encourage and acknowledge students and junior investigators, advocates, and health practitioners, whose research or advocacy/educational/quality projects contributes to the elimination of health disparities and the achievement of health equity.

The posters should highlight topics relevant to health disparities, health equity, and/or social determinants of health. The posters should be in the form of a series of 5 to 6 Powerpoint slides, including: Title Slide (project title, researchers, affiliation); Introduction and Project Goal/Hypothesis; Methodology; Results (up to 2 slides); and Summary and Conclusions, which include a description of how the project and its results can improve health equity. Accepted posters will be displayed in the main meeting room throughout the course of the meeting. A multi-disciplinary panel of experts will select a top submission based on relevance to health equity, project rigor, and clarity of presentation. The studen authoring the top poster will receive a $1000 award to cover the costs of attending the Summit and receiving the award.

Eligibility Requirements
To be accepted, posters must have a pre- or post-graduate student as the first author on the submission form; the student must be enrolled in an accredited program at the time of submission. Students are defined as undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral. All applications and posters should be submitted no later than February 26th, 4:00 pm eastern time to contactshc@shcllc.info with the subject line SHC Health Equity Poster Competition. Please include the poster as an attachment in two formats – PDF and powerpoint – and provide your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, level of study, and name of institution at which you are studying. Winners will be selected no later than March 10th, 2018.
